Background
In 1997, from a background in broadcasting, TV producer Chris Haydon founded community media specialists Community TV Trust [CTVT] www.communitytvtrust.org It offers training, video production, and innovative web-based projects such as "Southwark.TV" in south London (UK). Schools, colleges and community groups, each with a section of the central website, create and publish media - text/ stills/video/animation/etc, supported by CTVT. Training and creativity meet, skills acquired, local stories told. Local media is useful, relevant, fun - and empowering. After a period committed to community media and the corporate market, his work is being seen once again on broadcast channels, documentary film and a discussion series.
